UNTIL MARCH 20 FOUNDATIONS FOR FAME

Free exhibition of the work of eminent artists who started out on a foundation course at either Camberwell, Central St Martin’s or Chelsea School of Art between 1964 and 1988. UNTIL MAY 4 LOVIS CORINTH FEBRUARY 25-JUNE 8 TURNER’S WATERCOLOUR EXPLORATIONS 1810-42

Exhibitions at the Tate Gallery, London SW1. The first includes more than 90 oil paintings and 70 watercolours, drawings and prints demonstrating Corinth’s modern interpretation of traditional subjects such as the Bible, mythology, the nude, portraiture, landscape and still life. The self-portraits Corinth painted each birthday are a special feature. Advance tickets from First Call: 0171 420 0000. UNTIL MAY 26 MODERN ART IN BRITAIN 1910-1914

Paintings by Cezanne, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Matisse and Picasso are displayed alongside the work of British artists they “inspired”, including Vanessa Bell, David Bomberg, Roger Fry, Duncan Grant and Augustus John at the Barbican Art Gallery, London EC2. FEBRUARY 26 SCHOOL’S OUT

The Birmingham branch of School’s Out, a group that works for lesbian, gay and bisexual equality in education, meets every last Wednesday in the month, 8pm, The Fox, Lower Essex Street. Details: PO Box 5205, Birmingham B14 7RD.

Free seminars are being run at the Black Country Living Museum, Dudley, on: houses and homes (March 1); shops and shopping (May 14); transport (June 11); and industry (July 2 - this will include the launch of the museum’s industry resource book). All begin at 4pm. There is also an all-day seminar on June 21 starting at 9am. The museum’s real shops, houses and workshops authentically demonstrate life around the turn of the century. MARCH 7 THIRD INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S WEEK LECTURE
