CHILD’S EYE:HOUSESIN CHILDREN’S BOOKS

Homes of all kinds are often the basis of children’s books, examples being The House at Pooh Corner and The Wind in the Willows. This exhibition of text and illustrations at the Royal Institute of British Architecture’s gallery in 66 Portland Place, London W1, forms part of a spring season on “The intimate space: inventing the house”. HUSHABYE MOUNTAIN

English Touring Theatre Education is staging Jonathan Harvey’s new play about “a group of bright young things in a world learning to live with AIDS” in Brighton, Cambridge, Manchester, Poole and Hampstead Theatre, London NW3. Workshops, talks and discussions for students of further and higher education, devised in association with Body Positive and the Terence Higgins Trust, will explore such issues as sexual health and bereavement. COLD WAR LECTURE TOUR

Jeremy Isaacs and the production team of Cold War, part II of which is being screened on BBC2 on Saturday evenings, are visiting Glasgow University, followed by the National Museum Reardon Smith Theatre, Cardiff, and King’s College, London WC2, 6.30pm start. BLOOD LINES

Replay Productions is touring primary schools in Northern Ireland with this play, written by John McClelland to support the Vikings at key stage 2, and is staging public performances at Ballycastle, Derry, Downpatrick and Monaghan respectively. It tells the story of Vikings Freydis Godsdottir, her father and brother, who have settled on the shores of Larne Lough, and focuses on the impact Viking culture on Christian Celtic Ireland and the legacies still evident today.
