KEN Boston, head of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority, said this week he was “guardedly confident” that the examination system would stand up this summer. He said that the examination boards had recruited more markers for the summer’s exams than at this time last year.
The QCA said that “80-90 per cent” of the 50,000 examiners needed this summer had been found. GCSE, AS and A-level written exams begin in mid-May.
