Exams chief hits back at Ofqual

Former head of the Edexcel exam board in England, Jerry Jarvis, has claimed in a book, Cheats, Choices and Dumbing Down, that he resigned in 2009 because the exams watchdog Ofqual wanted him to “artificially” adjust marks downwards in a bid to prevent modular GCSEs causing grade inflation.
