Exploring in Holland Park

Following the publication of the article “Holland Park staff vent their anger”, we wish to make a number of points clear (TES, January 23).

We regret that a member of the staff apparently made contact with The TES to provide the information on which the article was based. Such contact was unhelpful and not in the best interests of the staff, students and the wider school community.

The report of the meeting as outlined in the article contained a significant number of inaccuracies.

A positive and constructive meeting was held on Friday, January 23 between Colin Hall, head; David Chappell, associate head; Steve Sinnott, deputy general secretary of the National Union of Teachers, and Stuart Cankett, regional secretary, NUT.

It was agreed at this meeting to explore processes to address and respond to matters of concern that have been raised.

We will seek to ensure that the best interests of students, staff and the school community are safeguarded while at the same time preserving the significant progress made by the school in recent times.
