I sincerely hope that the two teachers and British National Party members referred to (BNP pair face being struck off, The TES, September 19) are, if the evidence is sufficiently compelling, struck off from the teaching register for espousing racial and religious intolerance. Mr Walker is a member of the BNP-dominated Solidarity trade union. It is important that we constantly expose this front organisation for what it is - nothing other than a vehicle for peddling the propaganda of the BNP. This organisation has nothing to do with the long-held traditions and values of trade unionism in this country.Mike Ion, Telford.
