(Photograph) - Sixty primary pupils from across Glasgow took part in the first city-wide pupil council, the brainchild of Catriona Renton, the city council’s spokeswoman on youth issues.
A secondary pupil council, meeting in the marble surroundings of the City Chambers, has been running for two years and the idea has caught on with younger pupils who took up issues such as the Kidz discount card and school breakfasts. All primaries now have breakfast clubs.
Some pressed for the right to decide the size of their portions for morning cereals.
