Design and technology university students could win pound;600 for sharing their skills with secondary schools and inspiring young people.

Students are being invited to spend 15 days in a school, working alongside teachers and supporting individual pupils and small groups.

The students will be expected to learn quickly about classroom practice and how the subject fits into the national curriculum.

So far, more than 400 students have participated in the scheme and gained the pound;600 bursary, which they only receive if they complete the placement.

The project is supported and funded by the Training and Development Agency for Schools. For more information, contact Paul Drury of the Design and Technology Association on 01789 473912 or email paul@data.org.uk.
