Caroline Lander, a teacher at Zouch primary school in Tidworth, Wiltshire, is so pleased with her class, who disco in her Relief. She says it’s unusual for a class to take on this kind of responsibility for 300 four to11-year-olds, but hers were a determined bunch and convinced the head they could do it.

The idea for a fundraising event came during last term’s geography focus, which involved looking at famine and droughts across the world.

On the afternoon of the disco, Caroline had to rush off to hospital where her mother had been taken suffering from a heart attack. Staff at Zouch primary rallied round and the class did a fantastic job. She is so proud of them for saving the day.

If your class deserves a treat, email friday@tes.co.uk to tell us why, giving the name of your school. Mark your message Dubble offer. For information on fair trade, go to www.dubble.co.uk.
