The fairy-tale world of maths

“JACK and the Beanstalk” and “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” are being used to teach maths skills.

Fairy tales and numeracy have been linked at Park Hill junior school, Kenilworth, through a project developed by Maggie Booth, Warwickshire local educatin authority adviser. She will talk at a five-day Commonwealth conference in India, organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation and the Commonwealth Association for Science, Technology and Mathematics Educators.
