Did you know that 25 per cent of all state primary schools in England are Church of England schools? You can find out a lot more on the Church of England website which covers education in its “Children and young people” section. And a new Catholic website, Cathport, created by The Tablet magazine, provides links to a wealth of information about the Catholic Church that could also be useful for any RE department. Teachers looking for broader sources would do well to visit the government’s standards site (for schemes of work) and the Virtual Teacher Centre (search on the VCT viewer for Religious Education) along with The RE Directory - both have plenty of interesting links www.cofe.anglican.org www.cathport.com http:vtc.ngfl.gov.uk http:www.standards.dfee.gov.uk schemesreligion www.theredirectory.org.uk.
