The first 25 principal teacher posts in primary clusters in Falkirk are to go to existing senior teachers, the authority has agreed as part of its McCrone implementation plan. It is appointing another 25 teachers to allow headteachers, deputes and principal teachers to be non-class committed by August. Other additions include the appointment of resource managers to the eight clusters and increases in auxiliary staff to cut teacher time on administration.
