A Health and Safety Executive investigation has cleared Bowman’s Farm in Hertfordshire of responsibility for the E-coli outbreak which led to a four-year-old boy becoming severely brain-damaged after a school visit.

However, the HSE will urge the DFEE to remind all schools of its guidelines on farm visits. It will also recommend more washing facilities, and that further measures are taken to ensure no food is consumed where animals are present.
