Any school wishing to bone up on the beef crisis is invited to contact the Scottish Office education and industry department, in the person of Alan McPherson (schools provision and organisation division).
The official advice, of course, is that there is no reason to withdraw beef from menus. This will come as especially good news to Polly McPherson, his wife, who recently departed the turmoil of being Scottish Office education spokesperson for the National Farmers’ Union.
Schools can be assured that any advice from the SOEID is, as always, based on the most impeccable and up-to-date information.
