A father has won a legal battle against Manchester city council after revealing its admissions policy discriminated against children living outside the city limits by favouring pupils from its own primary schools.
The local government ombudsman found the Council was guilty of maladministration and recommended it pay pound;250 compensation to the father. He also urged the council to “urgently review” its admissions procedures.
