IN his letter Bill Bonnen (TES, September 1) stated that, as a supply teacher, he offered his services to TimePlan teacher recruitment specialists in October last year.

He claims he has not heard from our staff since and therefore assumes that there cannot be a critical shortfall of supply teachers as reported.

Mr Bonnen’s application to work with TimePlan included a legthy interview with a qualified teacher and other standard checks.

Unfortunately, Mr Bonnen did not meet our strict criteria and we declined to register him with us. He was informed of this decision both by letter and by telephone.
