Feast of football

On returning to school in January, a group of Year 11 boys at Culverhay boys’ school in Bath decided to raise money for the Asian tsunami disaster appeal. With an initial target of pound;600, pupils collected spare cash, parents baked cakes, cars were washed and the PE department organised a fundraising basketball match. Three weeks later the boys had collected more than Pounds 1,000, and their head, Mrs Chorley, says a box of fair-trade chocolate and a Fair Deal football would be a great way of saying “Well done!” We hope everyone enjoys their well-deserved treats.

For the next three weeks, to celebrate Red Nose Day (March 11), we are offering a bumper prize package comprising a box of Dubble bars for all the class to share, two Dubble Easter eggs, two packs of Fairtrade Union Coffee blend and a Dubble T-shirt. So tell us why your class deserves a treat by emailing friday@tes.co. uk. We especially want to hear about your Red Nose Day antics. Mark your message Dubble offer. For more information on fair trade go to: www.dubble.co.uk; www.fairdealtrading.co.uk.
