Fight for better meals

The US military has joined the fight against unhealthy school meals. A group of retired officers claim the meals threaten national security because 27 per cent of 17 to 24-year-old Americans are too overweight to join the forces, and so “too fat to fight”. They are pressing for the passage of a wide-ranging nutrition bill which aims to make school lunches healthier.
