Film Street is an interactive site for children aged six to nine. It is designed to unlock their imaginations, encourage expression and develop literacy skills through filmmaking. The site features teaching resources that use the moving image to help pupils understand narrative, character and plot, and to write stories and extend their vocabulary. A forum also allows teachers to share their activity ideas, case studies and recommendations for resources. There are interactive activities for children - including guidance on how to edit, animate and use special effects - and a special cinema previews the latest releases and lets them broadcast their own films to the world. The site also has special features, so those with dyslexia or visual and motor impairments can use it more easily.
