Most of the book consists of a wide range of worksheets with supporting text on other pages. These cover topics such as fungi in the field and in class, its role in eco-systems and the discovery of penicillin. Activities include detective work on supermarket foods, making dyes and paper, and enacting a murder mystery with a parasitized tree as victim. The book is by Sue Assinder of the University of Wales, Bangor and Gordon Rutter, who a schoolteacher in Edinburgh and is available free from The Librarian, The British Mycological Society, Joseph Banks Building, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew TW9 3AE.
