Pupils at a Cambridgeshire school are being fingerprinted as part of their registration system each day.

Impington village college is thought to be the first in the UK to use the computerised system, where pupils scan their fingertips rather than answering names in a roll-call. Staff hope the technology, supplied free for a trial period by specialist firm Vericool, will help them to tackle truancy and make children safer.
