First strike for youth workers

The Community and Youth Workers’ Union has voted for strike action for the first time in its 66-year history. The union is threatening action over its claim for a pay rise of more than 3 per cent for youth workers achieving a new advanced practitioner senior grade. It will attempt to reach an agreement with employers during talks on March 2.
