Your piece on NQTs facing classroom attacks (” Training fails to ready NQTs for violence”, September 4) is a classic piece of “churnalism”.

The “news” being presented, in the best traditions of flat-earth journalism, appears to be lifted straight from a PR handout from one of our teaching unions.

I would be fascinated to know how data derived from such a particular interest group, by a research organisation whose major preoccupation is criminology, can be seen as anything other than flawed. The reality for most NQTs is very different - but that wouldn’t be news, would it?
