The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds is aiming for a million members. The final push towards this target will take place in the autumn with a festival fortnight of activities including an RSPB week (September 21-28), and a World Birdwatch (October 4-5). RSPB members receive a colourful, 96-page magazine quarterly and free entry to more than 100 RSPB nature reserves around the UK. Events include sunset specials, seabird open days, wildlife and nocturnal walks, birdwatching, summer flowers and butterflies and optics demonstrations. For more details, contact: RSPB Million Members. Dept N3404, The Lodge, Sandy, Bedfordshire SG19 2DL.
