Stability and certainty over school ICT funding, which was the aim of new government budgeting arrangements, are not being achieved, according to recent research by the British Educational Suppliers Association (Besa). A number of primary and secondary headteacher focus groups revealed confusion and frustration over school budgets. “This could have an impact on every child reaching his or her own potential using ICT, because it may prevent schools and teachers from being able to buy what they want, when they want,” said Besa director Ray Barker.
