Mr Gamble refuted any notion that inspectors will intervene in a school as part of the new “follow-through” inspections. Suggestions that they would be involved in leading change at school level were “totally inappropriate and unwelcome to them”, although the focus will be on the 25 per cent of schools that show room for improvement after recent inspections.
