Tomatoes, bread, honey, apples - even Brussels sprouts might find an honoured place during British Food Fortnight from September 20 to October 5. A free poster suggests how schools might mark the occasion, perhaps publishing a cookbook with local recipes or hosting a “bring and share” harvest festival supper. It also gives information on useful websites. The aim is to make healthy eating a matter of pleasure as well as economic and personal prudence. British Food Fortnight posters are available from the Event Office at the Rural Regeneration Unit.
