The foot-and-mouth outbreak has hit the investment plans of Scotland’s two main agricultural colleges, the Barony near Dumfries and Oatridge in West Lothian, a report from the FE funding council has confirmed. Neither college faces an immediate crisis, however, and no animals have been lost. The funding council has agreed to offer immediate financial support of up to pound;100,000 pending a more detailed review of the impact of the outbreak on all rural FE colleges.
