Dunfermline Football Club has extended its community schools project to take in local secondaries. More than 800 five to 11-year-olds took part last year and now coaches from the club are also working with S1 pupils at Dunfermline High and Inverkeithing High. A total of 28 schools are now involved. The club works closely with Fife Council’s Scottish Football Association development programme.

Next month, Scotland’s under-16 schoolboys’ squad will play two matches in Belgium after receiving an invitation from the Belgian schools’

football federation. Scotland will face Switzerland on October 16 at Westerlo and two days later meet Belgium there.
