Scotland’s under-15 schools’ team won the Shield competition at the prestigious Ballymena International Tournament in Northern Ireland.

The team lost only one of its five matches but the 2-1 defeat in its opening group by eventual finalists Reublic of Ireland effectively put it in the lesser tournament.

There was a notable 3-0 defeat of an admittedly understrength Dutch team in the Shield semi-finals before a final win on penalties against the USA after a goalless game.
