For the first time in the 80-year history of the Victory Shield competition, Scotland will kick off its campaign tonight in a new guise.

The Scottish schools’ under-16 squad now comes under the umbrella of the Scottish Football Association and will compete as the Scotland under-16 team, following an agreement between the Scottish Schools’ Football Association and the SFA in the summer.

Scotland and Northern Ireland kick off at McDiarmid Park in Perth at 7.35pm. The game will be screened live by Sky television.
