Edinburgh’s Currie High school pupil Alan Brazil, whose father of the same name won 13 full international caps for Scotland, has shown he has the same flair for goals. In the final moments of the Glasgow City Council International at Scotstoun, he shot the winning goal with a 25-yard volley for Scotland’s Under-14 Schools’ team to beat Holland 3-2.

Scotlad led 2-0 at half-time through a header from team captain Steven Watt and a close-range shot from Mark Gardiner. Holland hit back with two goals from Sylvester Sabajo before Brazil made his spectacular contribution in the final minute. It gave Scotland the double over Holland as they had also beaten the Dutch in the Ballymena tournament last month.
