MINISTERS should stop trying to create classroom “superheroes” and concentrate instead on recruiting “exemplary individuals”, says the Association of Christian Teachers. Performance-related pay will create “hyperactive target-hitters whose professional monomania is relieved only by a powerful liking for money”.
