New Year’s resolutions
My New Year’s resolutions are very boring: lose a stone in weight, take more exercise, better work-life balance, less procrastinating, tidier house, and so on. Has anyone got anything a bit more exciting?

Same here. I will also add my resolution NOT to eat the food and biscuits constantly on offer at school, which is why I need to lose a stone in the first place.

Listen to classical music more. I grew up with classical music and I do love it, but I listen almost exclusively to pop music these days.

1. Survive January. 2. Make more soup.

Be more strict about my school work: mark and assess for one hour at school, then up to one hour at home, and plan during preparation, planning and assessment time. I’m going to try doing only two hours at the weekend as well, but we’ll see how that goes ...

My most successful new year’s resolution has been one I set three years ago: to rarely stand still on an escalator, going up or down! I get the Tube every day and I have managed to almost always stick to it, even after a late night at school or when catching the last Tube home. I am very proud of myself for sticking to this for so long.

Start developing additional income sources that will eventually supplement my pension. As part of the above, start making money from my photography.

Be careful what you wish for - you may just get it. I said last year I would like there to be a little bit less of me. After mangling my fingers in the lawnmower there is definitely a little less of me: one finger is a good bit shorter than it used to be! Haven’t lost any weight though.

Don’t get made redundant in 2012. That’s all.
