SINGLE men, lone mothers and unemployed people are being called on to foster children as part of the Government’s drive to tackle the shortage of carers.

Launching the drive to recruit 7,000 foter parents, John Hutton, the health minister, said: “The perception that fostering is the preserve of married couples and white, middle-class families is a myth and should be dispelled.”
