Mike Garnett is a PE teacher at the Stonehenge school, Amesbury, Wilts He’s an enthusiastic and popular member of staff at this mixed comprehensive, coaching football teams and regularly taking pupils to watch England play at Wembley. Sadly, last month Mike was assaulted at the school by an intruder and, though not seriously injured, was shaken. His wife Kate suggested we send him a bunch of flowers to give hi “a better Friday”. Headteacher Tim Small says: “Mike displayed a typically professional reaction by putting the safety of his pupils first.”

Please send the name of your Friday Hero - and why he or she should get a bouquet - to Sarah Bayliss, TES Friday, Admiral House, 66-68 East Smithfield, London E1W 1BX or e-mail her at sarah.bayliss@tes.co.uk. Flowers kindly supplied by Marks and Spencer.
