Ian McNally is a Year 5 teacher at St John’s Church of England middle school in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire “He is the best teacher I have ever had,” writes 10-year-old Ruth Power in a letter nominating him. “Why? Because he is exciting and makes learning fun, he develops our work into games and then we understand.” Ruth asks if we can also send Maltesers to Mr Mcally - he and his dog Monty love them. Sorry to disappoint, Ruth, but the flowers should say it all.

Please send the name of your Friday Hero - and why he or she should get a bouquet - to Sarah Bayliss, TES Friday, Admiral House, 66-68 East Smithfield, London E1W 1BX or e-mail sarah.bayliss@tes.co.uk. Flowers kindly supplied by Marks and Spencer.
