Isobel Tait has worked for Hounslow School Meals Service for 30 years, the past 20 as school cook at Spring Grove primary, Isleworth.

Headteacher Maureen Buckby says she has never worked with a more caring cook: one in a million. Isobel’s tactics include putting slow eaters at the front of the dinner queue and respecting all children’s tastes and likes. Today the school holds a pecial assembly to say thank you for her big contribution to school life and to present her with flowers from TES Friday.

Please send the name of your Friday Hero - and why they should get a bouquet - to Sarah Bayliss, TES Friday, Admiral House, 66-68 East Smithfield, London E1W 1BX or e-mail her at sarah.bayliss@tes.co.uk. Flowers kindly supplied by Marks and Spencer
