Teresa Wright is a treasured teaching assistant at Our Lady Immaculate RC primary school in Chelmsford, Essex

She started as a volunteer helper when her first child was in reception and has stayed loyal to the school ever since, always encouraging pupils to do their best. Headteacher Adrian Hayes nominated Teresa for this week’s flowers, champagne and chocolates, saying she’s “a diamond” whose creativity and kindness make a huge difference to all the classes. As well as being patient, calm and conscientious, she produces professional-standard displays andresources with minimum fuss. “She saves us a fortune,” says Mr Hayes.

Sister Catherine recalls arriving at the school as a new teacher and how Teresa was “brilliant with the children and with me - making my life much easier. She’s so hard-working and we couldn’t manage without her.”
