Fundamentalists urge Steinbeck ban

A CHRISTIAN fundamentalist parents’ group has petitioned a school board in Winnipeg, Canada to ban John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men from the school curriculum.

Christians Influencing Education cites 43 cases of blasphemy in the Nobl prize winner’s classic story about the lives of migrant farm workers.

The novel has already been banned in 43 school districts in the United States.

Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn has been barred from 35 districts.
