TES FE Awards: record entries for 2017
A record number of entries has been submitted for the TES FE Awards 2017.
Individuals and institutions across the UK have submitted more than 350 entries – up by a third from last year.
This year two new categories have been introduced to the awards, which are being held in association with the Education and Training Foundation. The professional services team of the year category will recognise teams working in administration and back-office positions. And the important role that assessors play in the growing apprenticeship programme is being acknowledged with the new assessor of the year category.
In total, there are 16 award categories, ranging from teacher of the year and best teaching and learning initiative to lifetime achievement and outstanding use of technology.
The winners of the FE college of the year, sixth-form college of the year and training provider of the year categories will again battle it out to decide who will follow in the footsteps of ELATT Connected Learning and be named overall FE provider of the year.
TES FE Awards: 'shining a light'
TES FE editor Stephen Exley said: “We’re absolutely thrilled with the fantastic response from colleges and training providers this year, which has resulted in a record number of entries. This is a reflection of the brilliant work FE does.
“Our judges are looking forward to reading about the fanastic work being done across the UK, and shining a light on excellence throughout the FE sector.”
The shortlist will be announced on 16 December, and the winners will be revealed on 24 February 2017 in a ceremony at Grosvenor House in London.
