A project that teaches children how to handle money has become available in Gaelic.

On the Money, launched in June 2007, is aimed at pupils aged from eight to 12 and combines numeracy, literacy and drama. It uses storytelling to illustrate financial dilemmas, with contributions from four Scottish children’s writers: Theresa Breslin, Jonathan Meres, Nicola Morgan and Alison Prince. It will be sent free to all Gaelic medium schools.

It is the result of collaboration between Standard Life, Learning and Teaching Scotland and the Scottish Book Trust.
