Caroline Allams, an early years language development specialist, developed her Pedagogs motivational materials after creating them for her own children.
“As a reward, I used to ask them what they wanted me to draw them as,” says Caroline who is now supply teaching in Hong Kong. “They chose characters like a fairy, an astronaut, a superhero, and I added a statement about their achievement - like ‘I was kind to my friend today’ or ‘I used capital letters’.”
The result was 27 characters from Ruby the Pirate to Jose the Fireman, aimed at three to nine-year-olds, which appear on a range of products from stickers and certificates, to wristbands, stampers and activity books.
