MANY letters printed in The TES are extremely critical of the Office for Standards in Education’s inspection process. I would like to offer hope to schools from the experience we have just had at the school where I teach.

In the weeks leading up to the inspection, as expected, staff were very apprehensive. However, the team that carried out our inspection (NIAS) was commendable. The inspectors were professional, sensitive and thoughtful. Staff were made to feel relaxed and the whole process was very positive.

There are teams that realise how stressful the experience is who will endeavour to ease you gently through and make the process as pain-free as possible.
