It is good to see that George Foulkes, Labour MP for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley, is keeping in touch with his constituents’ interests, despite his onerous duties in the Overseas Development Department.
In his weekly Westminster column in the Ayrshire Post last week, Foulkes praises the sensitivity of South Ayrshire Council in keeping open Fisherton and Minishant primaries. This will come as a welcome pat on the back for education vice-chairman Elizabeth Foulkes, who sounds strangely familiar.
