Land of Shadows, JRR Tolkien. Motherwell Heritage Centre. North Lanarkshire until May 31
This touring exhibition, created by East Lothian Council’s museum services and the Tolkien Society, is described as “a journey into the lands of JRR Tolkien, using examples of his work to stimulate the imagination”. It is aimed at younger primary and pre-school groups. The show features a Hobbit house, a giant book with a secret door and, apparently, some hairy Hobbit feet.
North Lanarkshire Council will be offering a programme of storytelling sessions and creativity workshops aimed at promoting literacy.
