A maze of more than 1,000 soapboxes is being installed in London’s Royal Festival Hall as part of the re-opening celebrations for the Southbank Centre.

Pupils aged eight to 14 and their teachers can pin notes expressing their opinions and concerns about what is important to young people.

The boxes will be dismantled at the end of July and sent to schools, which will return them for an exhibition next year.

The scheme is accompanied by a teaching pack, and the whole event ties in with the London Literature Festival, which runs until July 12.
