Until October 31

Three hundred years of British history and Jewish settlement in Gibraltar are explored in the Gibraltar Rock - British Fortress, Jewish Haven exhibition at the Jewish Museum, 129-131 Albert Street, Camden Town, London NW1. In 1704, British forces conquered the strategically important fortress and despite the 1713 Treaty of Utrecht seeking to banish Jews and Muslims from the Rock, Jews, Muslims and Christians have lived there harmoniously for centuries. Exhibits include personal and religious artefacts passed down Gibraltar’s Jewish families for generations and paintings by the Gibraltar Jewish artist Jacob Azagury, on display for the first time outside the Rock. There is an accompanying events programme.
