It must be accepted that no child grows taller as a result of being measured (“Testing is not enough to measure standards”, TES, March 1).
This applies equally to teachers, heads, schools and standards. In place of the current spate of endless measuring, let schools have a moratorium for a year and use the funding for some focused professional help.
