Your very interesting article about special schools becoming academies was, sadly and inexcusably, deficient (“Special schools dip their toes in the deep end”, 15 April). We learned why seven headteachers had “decided” that their schools should apply - but no mention of the people whose decision it really is, namely the governors.
Perhaps next time we can hear from some of them about what led them to make their decision, whether that was to apply or not.
